Hot water cylinders are a major part of any households plumbing system.
A mains pressure system can come in many forms; Gas continuous flow systems, outdoor gas hot water cylinders, Solar and electric combined cylinders and standard electric indoor hot water cylinders.
Mains pressure cylinders have more safety valves than low pressure cylinders and are therefore a bit more complicated to install. The benefits of a mains pressure system is normally noticed in your shower, where you can get a better more consistent mix of hot and cold water and the temperature won’t change as much if another tap is turned on in the house. Mains pressure systems will overflow when heating as the water expands this will come from the Temperature Pressure Relief Valve. They will also overflow from the cold water expansion valve, however neither should run constantly. Its normal to notice your hot water cylinder overflowing after large moments of use i.e in the morning after the household have had showers.
Low Pressure Hot Water Cylinder:
If you have a low pressure cylinder this will mean your hot and cold taps will have unequal pressure – this is very common in older homes especially if there haven’t been any major renovations. Low pressure cylinders will overflow when heating but they should not overflow all the time. If your cylinder is constantly overflowing this could be a sign that the pressure relief or pressure reducing valve is failing. Replacing these valves is normally relatively simple, however this can be a good time to consider upgrading to a mains pressure system, especially if you are planning to renovate your bathroom as new plumbing fittings are generally maid for mains pressure hot and cold.

Our hot water tank was wrongly installed a few years ago by a previous plumber. We have had issues with leaking and sloppy pressure.
Phoned Brian and James and within 24 hours they assessed and repaired. The standard of work was immaculate. Sincerely impressed with the pipe work. Now we have properly installed working hot water system...wish I had them install originally.

We had water draining down underneath our house particularly after heavy rainfall. James, came around and assessed the problem quickly and provided a solution for installing a pump under there. Very communicative process especially after finding an unforeseen issue with digging under the houses due to a layer of concrete under the soil, but new solution was quickly proposed. Pump works perfectly, Highly recommend.

Marbeck Plumbing did three things at our house . The first was to replace the existing bathroom hand basin with a much more practical unit , it has brightened up the whole bathroom . The second was to install a brand new water filtration system ,which we are pleased with . The third was to replace the kitchen sink tap from a high pressure tap to a low pressure one , we now have twice the water flow , the wife is very happy .
